Ralph Randall Roberts

Randy was a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church and the Real Life Connections Sunday School Class. He also participated in the Children’s Ministries.

He was retired from McKee Foods Corporation after 10 years of service. He was formerly employed for many years with Dixie Yarns.

Randy was an avid golfer and Red Sox Fan. He played golf with John Stallworth of the Pittsburgh Steelers in his celebrity golf tournament in Alabama.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the doctors and nurses we met on this journey, especially Dr. Daniel L. Miller at Emory University and Dr. Darrell Johnson at COHA, and Drs. John and Lisa Morris for their countless hours of dedication toward Randy’s courageous battle. Special thanks also to Jim and Kay Haun and Shirley Crum for all the times they were called upon and responded.

Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Wendy Gans Roberts; son, Matthew Jerome Roberts of Chattanooga; stepfather, Barney Gilbert sisters, Billie Jean (David) Lowrey of Chattanooga; Kathy (Roger) Curry of Huntsville, Alabama; nephews, Justin (Erin) Rowell of Geraldine, Alabama; Jordan Rowell and Jerick Rowell of Huntsville; David Lowrey of Chattanooga; niece, Kim Lowrey of Chattanooga; his beloved pet, Lucy; and a host of other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the East Brainerd Chapel with Dr. Bill Owens officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 2-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
