

Born in 1965, Joe (Robert) grew up in Florida, where he developed a lifelong love of the water. He went on to build a career as a site superintendent in construction, where his strong work ethic and leadership were evident to everyone who knew him. Gifted with his hands, Joe (Robert) could build or fix just about anything—whether welding, crafting, or creating—he had a natural talent for making things work.
Free-spirited at heart, Joe (Robert) loved to travel and seek out new experiences. He also loved to fish, hunt, and grill, and he was famous among his granddaughters for making the best ribs. Joe (Robert) was a storyteller—he had a goofy spirit and a magnetic presence that made people want to be around him. To know him was to love him. He adored his cat, Spade, and had a deep bond with his siblings and family.
Joe (Robert) is survived by his beloved wife, Melanie Brown; his son, Dalton Kendrick; his daughter, Emma Dover, and his son-in-law, Jarred Dover; and his cherished granddaughters, Jillian and Avery Dover. He is also survived by Sterling DeVerter and Abigail Wells, who he loved as his own. He is further survived by his mother, Patricia Gray; his "Pop," Gordon Gray; his brothers, Robert, Michael, and Timothy; and his sisters, Audrey, Shirley, and Susan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Kenneth Kendrick, and his sister, Debbie Tarantino.
Joe (Robert) will be remembered not only for his laughter and stories, but for the love he gave to his family and friends. His expressive eyes spoke the words he didn't need to say, and his presence will be deeply missed.
A celebration of Joe (Robert)’s life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in Saint Cloud, Florida.
