Ronnie was self-employed for over 40 years in the amusement machine industry. A man of deep faith, he was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and had served as a Deacon at the East Lake Church of the Nazarene.
Ronnie had a great love for animals, especially his two beloved cats, Spooky and Hissy. Ronnie cherished time with family, particularly enjoying Sunday dinners and holiday gatherings. He was a devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews, with whom he shared many special moments.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Edith and James Hawkins, and his sisters, Joanne Curtis, and Annette McKinley (Danny), niece Krista Campbell and nephew, Gary (Chip) Cummings, Jr.
He is survived by his brother Jim Hawkins (Hazel), sister, Suzanne Robinson (Mark), nieces, Shelia Campbell (Dale), Karen Tinsley (Dirk), Alicia Uson, Ashley Robinson Calhoun (Jeremy), and Carrie Warren, his nephews, Robbie Curtis (Katrina), Tim Hawkins (Shelly), Stephen McKinley (Greg), Chad Robinson (Megan) and was a great uncle to many more nieces and nephews.
Life wasn’t always easy for Ronnie. The last few years brought struggles that few could fully understand, battles he faced quietly and often alone.
Ronnie was a brother, an uncle, and a friend-and he will remain in our hearts forever.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, September 18th at Forest Hills Cemetery.
