He was born January 17, 1935 in Ider, Alabama to the late Ervin & Mary Stallings.
Mr. Stallings was a 1953 graduate of Ider High School where he played both Football and Basketball. He attended the University of Louisville majoring in Marketing.
He was a member of the Ider Masonic Lodge #677. He was a member of the Lions Club for 41 years, where he served as Past President at various locations. He received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award in 1993. He was active with Gideon’s International. He was an avid Alabama Fan.
Roy Gerald Stallings, age 84, of Chattanooga passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020 at his home.

He was currently a member of Concord Baptist Church; former member of Taylorsville Road Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher; and First Baptist Church of Irmo serving as a deacon.
He retired from National Linen as Plant Manager after 38 year of service.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Joey Walter Stallings; sisters, Emily and Inez; and brothers, Ray & E. R. Stallings.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Nina Stallings; sons, Roy (Sharon) Stallings, Jr., Rodney Stallings, and Randy (Debra) Stallings; sister, Shelby Allen; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 13, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. in the East Brainerd Chapel with Dr. David King officiating. Burial will follow at Fuller Cemetery in Ider, Alabama.
