Sean "Schon" Mitchell Jones

The beloved, witty, fun-loving Sean Mitchell “Schon” Jones, 37, born Friday, June 28, 1985, at Erlanger Baroness Hospital in Chattanooga, TN, passed away unexpectedly in his residence on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, in Atlanta, GA.

Schon is a Chattanooga Southside native who began his former public education in Chattanooga, TN, and later in Cincinnati, OH. After completing his former education, he set his sights on the cosmetology industry. He worked many years as a versatile hair stylist in Atlanta’s Dekalb County. He used his hair crafting services to determine what haircut, style, and color would best suit and satisfy his clients and elevate his creative imagination. His passion for making clients look and feel their fierce selves helped him to build a client base that remained with him until his demise.

Schon is predeceased by his mother, Melain Jones; father, Ralph Mitchell; great-grandparents, William (Gussie Beck) Jones and Lewis (Carrie Mae) Bridges; grandparents, Edward (Gussie Bridges) Jones; great-uncles, John Jones, Roland Bridges, William Jones, Jr., and Harold Bridges; great-aunts, Josephine Davis, Mary Fleming, Winifred (Eugene) Dozier, and Juanita (James) Taylor; uncles, Edward, Jr., Roland, Harold (Sandra), Jesse, Anthony, and Mack Jones; aunts, Rosemary McClure, Patricia Chambliss, and Betty Knight.

Schon’s legacy will live on with his survivors. They are great-aunts, Ruby Bridges-Watkins of Chattanooga, TN, and Emma (Thomas) Bridges-Clark of Newark, CA, aunt; Jennifer Jones of Chattanooga, TN; bother, Joshua (Caroline Powers) King of Richmond, VA, and his Chattanooga and Cincinnati relatives, Atlanta clients, and other friends.

A Life Celebration for Schon will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2023, from 1-5 PM with a balloon release at 4:30PM at Jackson Hill Park, 2001 Eleanor Place, Cincinnati, OH.
