

She was born to parents, Robert Martin and Ruby Kate Cooper on May 22, 1950 in Chattanooga, TN. She gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a 1968 graduate of Howard High School. She was employed as a line trimmer at Pilgrim’s Pride for over 36 years.
Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Robert Martin; mother, Ruby Kate Hurston; and brother, Leroy Cooper.
Survivors include her sons, Alejandro Cooper and Reginald Cooper of Chattanooga, TN; daughter, Tamara Cooper of Dallas, TX, 9 grandchildren; 3great-grandchildren; brothers, Theodore Sanford of Chattanooga, TN and Leon (Sheila) Cooper of Ocala, FL; sister, Effie Bryant of Chattanooga, TN; aunt, Margie Cooper of Chattanooga, TN; devoted friend, Ina Bailey of Chattanooga, TN; and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Shirley will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with funeral services immediately following at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 in the Franklin-Strickland Chapel of Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services with Pastor Dr. Ternae Jordan, Sr. officiating.
Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.
