Terry Leon Patton

Terry was the beloved son of Elsie Sue Hardy-Patton and the late Pastor Burness Leon Patton. He was a proud graduate of Kirkman Technical High School, Class of 1981.

A man of deep faith and service, Terry loved his church home and church family at New Vernon Grove. He faithfully served as a deacon under the leadership of his father, Pastor Burness Leon Patton, and the late Elder Harris L. Toney. Terry was dedicated in his role as a servant of the church and never had to be asked to attend to church needs.

He willingly gave his time, labor, and heart until his health failed. Throughout his life, Terry worked many jobs and was known as a man who did not sit idle if there was work to be done. He believed in responsibility, diligence, and providing through honest work.

He was preceded in death by his father, (The late Pastor B.L. Patton); siblings, Alexander Patton, Bernice Saafir, Tommy Hardy, and Johnnie Mae Wilson.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved son, Tyrel Leon Patton; his cherished grandchildren; his loving mother, Elsie Sue Patton; and his siblings, Joyce (Ray) Duke, Jeanette Blakemore, Arthur (Beverly) Patton, Loretta (Carl) McCullough, Lula Mae Patton, William Patton, Johnny Patton, Anthony (Barbara) Patton, Anthony (Sandra) Patton, Barbara (Dana) Jones, Leroy (Patricia) Patton, Patricia Patton, Betty Sue Cockrell, Ronnie Patton, Tonya Harris, and Terrie Moody, Edward Wickley along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family members, church family, and friends.

The family would also like to extend heartfelt gratitude to his special caregivers, Dora Wash and Erica Kelly, Avery & Burnessa Rollins, Kenneth Ball for their compassion, dedication, and loving care shown to Terry.

A Visitation for Terry will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services - Franklin Strickland Chapel, located at 1724 McCallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN, 37404.

The Funeral service will immediately follow at the same location at 1:00 pm with Elder Greg Ludy officiating.
