

Willie was born February 24th, 1953, in Chattanooga. He was a graduate of Kirkman High.
He grew up in the Highland Park and East Lake areas of Chattanooga, and later was a resident of East Ridge for 24 years, Sand Mountain for 19 years, and Rossville for the last four years.
Willie retired from Brock Candy Company after 47 years of service, first in hard candy, then in maintenance.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charley “Doc” Gilbreath and Ola Mae Gilbreath, and brothers, James Charley “Jaybird” Gilbreath and Willie Austin “Butch” Gilbreath.
Willie is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn “Sissy” Gilbreath, sons, Scottie and Matthew, one grandson from Matthew, Jayden Gordy, sister-in-law, Sandy Gilbreath, a host of nieces and nephews, his best little feline buddy Salem, his pupperoni pal Joe-Joe (Bite’em), and a sister, Lola Hughes.
There will be no memorial service.
Special thanks to Britney, Dirk, Chris, and all the other nurses and doctors at Parkridge Hospital, Hospice of Chattanooga, CHI Memorial EMS, Walker County Ga. Fire and Rescue Station #5, and anyone else who provided Willie with help, care, and comfort in his final days.
