Leslie William Westine Sr.

Leslie William Westine, Sr. age 94 passed away Saturday April 12, 2014 at his home. He was born in Weston, VT, January 19, 1920 the son of William John and Mary Elise (Moore) Westine. He grew up in Weston and graduated from Chester High School. Mr. Westine was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp having served during WWII

He was married to Eleanor May Howe on June 26, 1943 in the Baptist Church of Chester.

Mr. Westine had worked at the Fellows Gear Co. as a machinist.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and brother whose concerns were always for his family. A do-it-yourself fanatic who took great pride in the home he built. An ardent New England sports fan (Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots, & Bruins) as well as the University of Kentucky basketball.

He had a native Vermonter's sense of humor, and a quiet unassuming manner. His family and friends will dearly miss him.

He is survived by his wife Eleanor May Westine, his two sons, James Bryan Westine and his partner Maureen Hampton of Milford, NH, Leslie William Westine, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Delray Beach, FL; one brother, Howard Westine and his wife Doris of Chester; his grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Cesaitis and her husband Jeffrey of Fitzwilliam, NH, Jason Patrick Westine of Vernon, CT; Great grandchildren, Eric Tyler Westine, and Jesenia Ivette Westine both of Manchester, CT.

His brothers Robert of Weston, Wayne and Glen both of Chester, Richard of Orlando, FL, predeceased him.

Graveside services will take place in on Friday May 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Chester.
