

Roger Erwin Schultz, age 71, died unexpectedly on May 23rd, 2015 in Stratton, Vermont.
Roger was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1943, son to Erwin Schultz Sr. and Johanna (Jenny) Schultz. Roger completed high school in Terryville, CT. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1964 as a wireless operator with the rank of PFTE-1. Roger worked for General Motors from 1964 until 1991 when he retired at the age of 51. He met his wife Arloa Belisle in Terryville, CT. in 1980. They were married in Terryville in 1982.
Roger also served as a member of the Terryville, CT Hook/Ladder and Hose Company for 27 years. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, DAV, Polish Club, and Ukrainian Club. For the past fifteen years Roger worked as the manager of the Town of Stratton Transfer Station. He also served as Fire Warden for the Town of Stratton for fifteen years. Roger was also known to be a very good cook specializing in Polish cuisine, Roger style.
Roger is survived by his wife Arloa; son Peter J. Belisle and his wife Sandi and family; son Christopher J. Belisle and his wife Jennifer and family; brother Edward and Tita Schultz and family of Chicago, Illinois; brother Erwin Schultz Jr. and wife Huguette and family of Plainville, CT; sister Sandra O’Reilly and sons of Terryville, CT; sister Sally Witick and family of Terryville, CT; and several nieces and nephews.
A service will be held for Roger at the Ball Cemetery on Ball Farm Rd. in Stratton, VT at 12:00 noon on Saturday June 6th , 2015 presided over by Malcolm Killborn. There will be a memorial gathering at the Stratton Town Hall immediately afterwards. A pot-luck dish would be appreciated.
Donations in memory of Roger may be made to the Wardsboro Rescue Squad or to Grace Cottage Hospital.
