Brian William Cassidy, at the age of 60, passed away surrounded by the consolation and loving prayerful support of his family on February 15, 2025, in Mayfield Heights. He was born on May 15, 1964, in Cleveland to the late John A. and Helen F. (nee Logan) Cassidy. Brian was a graduate of Benedictine High School and later attended John Carroll University where he was an announcer for the radio station, WJCU. Brian was a Computer Graphics Designer for both the Chesterland News and the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He was an avid Cleveland Cavaliers and Guardians fan. In his younger years, he particularly enjoyed writing songs, playing guitar and singing with The Liquid Raisin Council Band. He took pleasure in photography, attending concerts, and plays. Brian also had a passion for Shakespeare. He memorized and recited many of Shakespeare’s works. He will be remembered for his many God given talents, especially for his vast knowledge and enjoyment in musical genres and for his enthusiasm for sharing Shakespeare with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his two brothers, George Logan Cassidy and Patrick J. Cassidy (wife, Barbara Cassidy). Brian is survived by his siblings: Hugh F. Cassidy (wife Maryann E.), Mary Ellen Greene (husband Thomas K.), and Dennis John Cassidy; nieces and nephew: Mary Colleen Rose Cassidy, Catherine Anne Rose Cassidy, Erin Frances Greene (husband Herman “Gus” Diggs), and Jonathan Andrew Greene; and many other loving family members and friends.
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for Christian Burial for the repose of his soul will be offered at Saint Helen Catholic Church located at 12060 Kinsman Rd., Newbury, Ohio 44065 on Saturday, March 1st, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Brian will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery located at 10000 Miles Ave., Cleveland, OH 44105 at a later date.
