

Carlton L. Blood, Jr., age 88, passed away May 9, 2025 in Cleveland. Born January 27, 1937 in Meadville, PA, he was a Washington and Harmonsburg, PA resident before moving to Chesterland in 1968. A proud 32nd Degree Mason, Carlton lived a life grounded in dedication and service. He was a man of many interests who found joy in the simple pleasures of life—spending time in nature hunting, boating and fishing, engaging in conversation over CB and HAM Amateur Radio, and preserving the fruits of the season by picking blueberries every summer. Carlton spent his career as a talented machinist at Jessop Steel in Washington, PA and Lincoln Electric in Cleveland, where his precision and work ethic were well respected. He took great pride in his craft and in the camaraderie of his colleagues. He is survived by his daughter Susan (Jeffrey) Brown, son Allen (Christine), and daughter Melinda (Daniel) Zikursh; grandchildren Kimberly and Ryan Blood, and Cary and Sarah Brown; great-grandchildren Ezra Pratt, and Annie and Henry Brown; and longtime neighbors and friends Alan and Jodie Winkler. Carlton is preceded in death by his wife Sarah Weir Blood; and parents Carlton L. Blood, Sr. and Catherine Foreman Blood. Private Graveside Service and Interment at Linesville Cemetery in Linesville, PA.
