He was born Jan. 24, 1916, in Wayland, N.Y.
Mr. Sheppard was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Pacific during World War II.
Survivors are his daughters, Nancy Kroeger, Diane Mahaffey, Barbara (Charles) Dome and Sally (John) Kempisty; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise; one grandson; one great-granddaughter; brother, Elon Sheppard; and sons-in-law, Raymond Kroeger and Bruce Mahaffey.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
