Dave was born to Stephen and Ann Coleman on October 6, 1976 in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, where he enjoyed having Cain Park as the family backyard with neighborhood friends. Later, he played hockey at Cleveland Heights High School and went on to study psychology at the University of Dayton where he graduated in 1998.
After college, Dave moved to Washington D.C., where he was a visionary pioneer in the budding craft brewery scene, co-founding the popular Three Stars Brewing Company which operated for nearly a decade. In both work and social settings, Dave’s enthusiasm for life was contagious, and his vibrant energy brightened every room. Dave was generous and supportive of everyone he loved, and his devotion to his family and friends was unmatched. He left a profound impact on all of the lives he touched, and he will be greatly missed.
Dave is survived by his father Steve, his older brother Jason with wife Tracy (Szustak), and their children Caden and Ellie, Dave’s beloved nephew and niece, who enjoyed all Uncle Dave brought to their lives, from silly car photos to sunset ice cream on Cape Cod. He is preceded in death by his mother Ann (Brase), who was the light of his life and Dave’s greatest champion. He is also survived by former wife of 15 years Nancy (Hoffman) and loving uncles, aunts, and cousins.
