LTC Frank C. Ferrara, 73, of Chester Township, passed away Jan. 19, 2011, at his home. Born July 28, 1937, in Cleveland Heights, he had been a resident of Chester Township since 1972. He was a member of St. Anselm Church and Burton American Legion Post 459. Mr. Ferrara was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the aviation and armored calvary. He was also an avid firearm collector. Survivors are his children, Kelly (Michael), Carl (mother, Kathleen Collins) and Michael, Maria ("Rusty") and Nicholas (mother, Mary Sabolik); and grandchildren, Sage, Mitchell and Melissa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Marie (nee Coppolino) Ferrara; and sister, Ann Ripepi. Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at Church of Saint Anselm, 12969 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. (Please meet at the church.) Interment will be in Chester Township Cemetery in Chester Township.
