Greg Polan

Greg Polan, age 63, of Russell Twp., passed away peacefully on Dec. 26, 2014, in his home after a long struggle with cancer. He was surrounded by family. He was born May 4, 1951, son of the late Leonard and Bernice (Berwald). Greg was a lifelong resident of Chesterland where he graduated from West Geauga High School in 1970 and started his company, Greg Polan Construction. He was a familiar face and smile in the community. Greg is survived by his beloved wife, Christine (Marko) of 32 years; three children, daughter Monica (Dale Vernon), of Kirtland, and sons Gregory and Bryan; grandchildren, Grant, Elizabeth and Dominic; sisters, Cindy Carlson (Jerry) of Chesterland and Sharon Johnson (Lou) of Strykersville, New York. Greg is loved by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard and Ken. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Rd., Chester Twp. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Jasper will officiate. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp.
