James G. "Jimmy" McPhillips

passed away August 11, 2018 at David

Simpson House in Cleveland.

He ws born May 10, 1931, in Cleveland,

and has been a resident of Concord

Twp. for 8 years, formerly living in Chester

Twp. for 40 years.

Jimmy proudly served in the U.S. Navy

Reserves. He was a member and Eucharistic

Minister at the Church of Saint

Anselm in Chester Twp., and was a licensed

private pilot who flew out of

Concord Air Park. He often enjoyed

boating, and was a member of the East

Side Serra Club.

Jimmy was a co-owner of McPhillips Plumbing, Heating,

and Air Conditioning.

Survivors include his wife, Mary (nee Donohoe); sons,

James (Fr. Jay), Patrick (Isabel), and Michael (Michelle);

daughter, Bridget (Mark) Verma; grandchildren, Patrick and

Shannon McPhillips, and Ian and Julia Verma; brother, Thomas;

and many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, Thomas P. and Kathleen

McPhillips; and sister-in-law, Dorothy McPhillips.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a wake service at 2:15 p.m., at

Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Rd.,

Chester Twp.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday,

August 16, 2018 at the Church of Saint Anselm, 12969 Chillicothe

Rd., Chester Twp., with Celebrant Rev. Jay McPhillips

officiating. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon

Twp.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jimmy’s name

may be made to St. Helen Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman

Rd., Newbury, OH 44065.
