Jane E. Vatty

Jane E. (Seith) Vatty, 85, a lifelong resident of Gates Mills, a homemaker, passed away Aug. 22, 2010, at Briar Hill Health Care Residence in Middlefield. She was born June 14, 1925, in Cleveland. Jane was very active with the Gates Mills PTA, the Gates Mills Players, and the Gates Mills Art Show. She was a former Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout den mother. Jane taught swimming lessons at Gates Mills Day Camp for many years, and was a longtime director of the Gates Mills Community House. She was also an avid bridge player. Survivors are her children, Karl (Mary Jane), Karen (Rich) Shisila, Roger (Laureen), Chris (Cookie), Kay Gibson, and Craig; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and sister, Nancy Seith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse E. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. Services will be held noon Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at the funeral home. Dorothy Gligor will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jane's name may be made to a charity of your choice.
