John Alfonso Falbo, 84, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026. Born January 13, 1942, in Cleveland, John lived a life marked by being strong, hardworking, and deeply devoted to family, faith, and service to others.
John was a proud member of the Class of 1960 at St. Joseph’s High School in Euclid, Ohio, and went on to the University of Toledo, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the College of Pharmacy, Class of 1966. He dedicated 45 years to his vocation as a pharmacist, serving others through his work with Toledo Health, Revco, CVS, Marc’s, and Giant Eagle.
John’s life included years in Wickliffe, Toledo, Sandusky, Mentor, and most recently Chardon, and he carried with him a deep appreciation for family and the traditions of his Italian heritage. He treasured lifelong friendships and loved gathering with his siblings, extended family, and friends, moments filled with the laughter he so often brought through his funny, often sarcastic sense of humor.
A man of steadfast Catholic faith, John was a parishioner of St. Anselm Catholic Church and prayed the rosary daily. He found meaning and comfort in prayer, and his faith guided the way he lived and loved.
John was a devoted father to five children and a proud grandfather to eight, cherishing time together, especially during holidays and family celebrations. He instilled strong morals and values that will be carried forward by those who loved him.
John also loved animals and had dogs and cats throughout his life. His beloved dogs, Paulie and Foxy, will miss the treats he slipped them from the kitchen table and the comfort of snoozing in his bed.
A loyal sports fan, John loved watching the Guardians and the Cavs. Coaching baseball and softball were one of the greatest joys of his life, and he often reminisced about his high school days with dear friends and about meeting his wife, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. After her passing in 2016, he missed her deeply, quietly carrying the weight of that loss. While hearts are broken, there is comfort in believing John is now at peace, reunited with his beloved wife, and resting in the loving arms of Jesus.
John is survived by his children Gina Falbo, Lisa Falbo, Lori Scibbe (Erich), John Falbo (Alison), and Lynn Graham (Earle); grandchildren Nicolas, Bryan, Natalie, Johnny, Luke, Olivia, Sean, and Tessa; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Susan (DePaul); parents Alfonso and Mary; sisters Evelyn (Antonino) Giannetto, Angela (Anthony) Ciofani, and Rose (Richard) Armbruster; niece Monica (Ciofani) McGarvey; and in-laws, Daniel, Rose, Tom, and Bob DePaul.
Family and friends may call at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland on Friday 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM, Saturday April 11, 2026, at the Church of Saint Anselm, 12969 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland. Interment at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.
