Judith Rae Prasek

Newbury, Ohio – Judith Rae (Judy) Prasek, age 81, passed away at home on Sunday, December 21, 2025. She was born on June 6, 1944, in Buffalo, New York, the daughter of Jane Green (Hadsall) and Raymond Claud Burleigh. Judy was a 1962 graduate of Lancaster High School of Lancaster, New York. It was in September of 1983 when Judy graduated with her associate degree of fine arts from the State University of New York. She was the office administrator for Telarc, music production.

Judy met David J. Prasek and became part of his family in 1995. Over the past thirty years they have been dedicated to volunteering and sharing. She volunteered at the Burton Food Bank, worked at the Geauga County Fair each year, as well as the Geauga County Board of Elections. Judy worked at the Chardon Discovery Store, made a garage sale day each week with her neighbor during the nice weather. She loved to indulge in a Maggie’s Donut and spend her time rug hooking.

She is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her stepchildren, Carol (Joe) Chaykowsky, Dave (Barb Welch) Prasek, Doug Prasek, and Ken (Lil-deceased) Kinder; her sister, Joanne (Bill) Correll; her brother, Thomas (Kathie) Burleigh; three grandchildren, Irina Chaykowsky, Jeff (Lezlie) Kinder, and Bill (Danielle) Kinder; five great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren. She was a loving aunt to two nieces, Sherry Honeycutt and Audra Sandy; and a nephew, Jim Burleigh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at St. Helen Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman Road, Newbury, Ohio, at Noon, with Father Jay McPhillips officiating. Friends will be received on Saturday, January 10th from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
