

Jean was a member of Aspinwall Church of God. She found a true calling in direct care work for the Geauga County Board of Developmental Disabilities/Metzenbaum, serving others with patience and compassion. Jean previously worked for Century 21 Launders & Assoc. and the Lake County Humane Society, continuing a life shaped by consideration for people and a tender concern for animals.
In personal life, Jean enjoyed fishing, rescuing animals, planning big Christmases, and spending time with her grandkids—simple joys that reflected a generous spirit and a warm, attentive heart.
Jean is survived by her daughter Dawn (Joe) Bastulli; son Robert Bundy; grandchildren Sofia Vober, Joe (Jen) Bastulli, Donnie (Maggie) Bastulli, Liza (Kevin) Johnson, and Jack Bundy; great-grandchildren Oliver, June, Wesley, and Reid; and dearest friends Peggy Wieland, Dawn Dean, and Connie Seibert. She is preceded in death by her first husband Donald Bundy; second husband James Shirey; parents Ralph & Lorraine (Coulter) Slaughter; and brothers Robert and James Slaughter.
Family and friends may call at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland on Tuesday 5 – 8 PM, where a Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 10:00 AM. Interment at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland. Memorial donations in Jean’s name may be made to the Geauga County Dog Shelter & Warden’s Office, 12513 Merritt Road, Chardon, OH 44024.
