She was born December 3rd,1989 to Richard Alan McKenzie Sr. and Dawn(Rancourt) Marie Lough in Mayfield Heights, OH.
Meghan was a beautiful soul with a heart of gold. She could light up a room with her smile. Her world revolved around her three daughters, who will miss her dearly. Everything she did was for them, and they shared a wonderful life. Little girls should not have to grow up without their mommy.
Meghan graduated from Warren G. Harding High School, where she was in the band and played volleyball. She also went to TCTC for cosmetology and later Raphael’s.
Meghan worked as a flagger for the Laborers Union Local 860 out of Cleveland and also the Ashtabula 245. It was a hard job with long hours but she loved it. She did everything she could to provide for her girls.
Meghan loved spending many fun days with her girls and her mother, who could always come up with, as the girls said “the best things to do”. She loved to shop and find her girls cool clothes. She dreamed of taking them to see the ocean and someday to Disney- three live baby dolls who had her wrapped around their little fingers.
Meghan leaves behind her mother, who was her best friend; they were inseparable and always had each other’s backs. Dawn lived for Meghan and now will show that same love and strength for her three girls; Ja’Taya Marie Janell Shaver, age 9(Justin), Dai’Karri Denise Mo’Nae McGee, age 8(Dave) and Carlee’Yah Dionna Star Dale, age 17 months(Carl).
Her stepfather, Daniel Dallas Lough, who was in her life for the last nine years, adored her and her girls. He’s the best popop and will stand by Dawn to raise these precious babies. Meghan is also survived by aunt's Robin (Rancourt) Bartoshek, Cindy (Rancourt) and uncle Kevin Widing as well as several cousins and friends, and her special aunt, Terri(Svoboda) Ackeret, who was her mother’s best friend and the first one to find out she was coming into this world and was there for her everyday since: her father and step mother, Richard and Tammy McKenzie; brothers Richard McKenzie Jr. (Danielle), James McKenzie(Megan); step sisters Tiffanie Troyer(Mark), Terra Hill(Mike); step grandparents Bonnie & Marilee Louk; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She will join her grandparents in heaven; Diana Marie (Herman) and Robert Wayne Rancourt, who left this earth in 2000; her grandmother Kathleen Birch; aunts Kathy Henderson, Mary Wilson, Linda McKenzie; and uncles Frank McKenzie and Charles Birch.
Arrangements are being handled by Gattozzi & Son Funeral Home in Chesterland, OH. Her mother and her girls will have a Celebration of Life at a later date. Her father's family will have a service and visitation on July 27, 2019 at Warren Baptist Temple, 2093 Ewalt Avenue NE, Warren, OH., from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations for her three little girls through PayPal or Zelle at [email protected] or through her employer, Chagrin Valley Paving, at http://gofundme.com/f/memorial-fund-for-meghan-mckenzie.
A Fathers Love, To my baby girl:
If roses grow in heaven Lord please pick a bunch for me, put them in my daughters arms and tell her they're from me. Tell her I love her and miss her, and when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while. Because remembering her is easier, I do it every day, but there is an ache within my heart that will never go away.
- In loving memory of my daughter Meghan Diana McKenzie
