

Born on July 13, 1940, in Elizabethton, Tennessee, Norm made Chesterland his home for more than 60 years. Known for his warm heart, mechanical skill, and love of classic cars—especially 1955, 1956, and 1957 Chevrolets—he leaves behind a legacy of devotion to family and craftsmanship.
Norm spent his career with Caterpillar in Mentor, Ohio, where he held various roles in machinery, plant processing, and special projects. He was respected for his work ethic, creativity, and hands-on approach to solving problems.
Norm is survived by his loving wife, Rita Minton; his sons Ron Minton and Randy Minton from his first marriage; and his son Rob Minton from his second marriage. He is also survived by his step-sons Mike Riddle, Allen Riddle, and Tim Riddle, as well as many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge and Blender Minton, and his sister, Janice Kunz.
Norm will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love of family, and the many stories he shared over the hood of a Chevy.
