Robert Layton Rumbold, age 92, of Chester Twp. Dear son of the late Max and Helen (nee stone) Rumbold; cherished brother of Susanne and the late Jeanette and Phillip; beloved husband of the late Jane; loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather of Brian, Charles (Merry), their children Sara, Rachel, Elizabeth, Melissa, Lynn and grandchildren Greg, Michaela, Ivan, and Amelia, John (Cherie) and their children Jared, Kaylynn and Janna Rumbold. Robert was an Eagle Scout, served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, and worked at General Electric for 25 years as an engineer who designed equipment for manufacturing light bulbs. He volunteered with the father’s club to build playground equipment for the West Geauga elementary schools and was an active volunteer at Community Church of Chesterland.
