

Sam A. Maniche Sr., a faithful, hard-working, and kind-hearted man, passed away on January 17, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on December 29, 1931, in Cleveland, Ohio, Sam was a longtime resident of Chesterland.
Sam was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in the Korean War. He was a founding member and a dedicated usher at St. Anselm Catholic Church in Chesterland. His dedication extended to being a member of the Catholic War Veterans and the American Legion. For 40 years, Sam was the owner and operator of Sam's Shoe Repair in Willoughby, retiring in 1996. After retirement, Sam became an invaluable associate with Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home.
Sam is survived by his sons Tony and Sam (Michelle), Jr.; grandchildren Larry (Meggan) Maniche, Chris (Jennifer) Maniche, Talia (Jon) Ballinger, Salvatore Maniche, and Nicholas Maniche; and great-grandchildren Anthony, Annsley, Jace, and Eli. He is also survived by countless nieces and nephews. Sam was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lena "Lee" Maniche; his daughter, MaryLee Maniche; seven sisters; and one brother.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 22, 2026 at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 12969 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland. Entombment at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland.
