Angel A. Velazquez

Angel A. Velazquez, age 65, of Chicago, Illinois, was born in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, on May 1, 1957, and passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. Angel was the most loving father of Little Angel Velazquez Jr.; Dear son of the late Ramon Velazquez & Victoria Calcano; Beloved brother of Carlos Calcano, Jose Ramon Velazquez, Sylvia Velazquez, Efrain Velazquez, and Carmen Santiago; unforgettable uncle; caring cousin; and fond friend of many.

Angel was a dedicated church member at a young age and moved to Chicago, Illinois, in early adulthood. Although reserved when you first met him, Angel lit the room with his warm smile, great sense of humor, and infectious laugh. Angel loved dancing, spending time with close family and friends, cars, reading, and watching boxing. Everyone who knew him recalls that when you invited him to watch a boxing match on TV, he would act out the match by punching and jumping in the air as if he were a fighter in the ring. It was truly a sight to see!

Angel also sang with great passion and remarkable enthusiasm, a memory that will remain in the hearts and minds of all who knew him. His selfless and caring nature was embodied through countless acts of service and kindness to those dearest to him. Especially with his son, Little Angel Velazquez Jr.

Angel A. Velazquez will be missed by those who knew him and what he stood for. We are sad to see him leave us so soon, but he will forever remain in our hearts and memories.
