Ann M. Luksa (nee Plantago), 95, of Berwyn. Beloved wife of the late Gabriel Luksa Jr.; loving mother of Robert (Gloria) Luksa, Richard (Maureen) Luksa and Ron Luksa; proud grandmother of Raymond (Amy) Luksa, Daniel (Renee) Luksa, Becky (Brad) Burkhardt, John Luksa and great grandmother of Aubrey, Natalie and Everleigh; loving sister of Catherine Plantago, Lauretta Wagner and the late Rose Wrobel, Chris Plantago, Frances Lochner, Mary McKnight, John Plantago, Ignatius Plantago and Josephine Sughero; caring aunt of many nieces and nephews; dear friend of many.
Ann was born on September 4, 1930 on a farm in Hammond, Louisiana. She was one of 10 children, 7 sisters and 2 brothers. She lived there until her family moved to Chicago during WWII. She stayed here in Chicago when her family eventually returned back to the farm in Hammond. At that time she met Gabriel Luksa and they went on to marry in January of 1957. They built their life together in the Cragin neighborhood and went on to have 3 sons together. She worked at Pioneer Bank for many years and eventually moved over to working for Warp Brothers before she retired. Ann was a strong independent woman with a vibrant personality who loved her family more than anything. She enjoyed many things in life, but mostly Ann was a people person. She loved going out and being with other people. During her last 8 months Ann was under the gentle and loving care of Stephanie who was her Caregiver. We could not have had a better person to care for her over the months and our family will always be grateful for the love and care she received from her. Ann will be dearly missed as we move forward without her but we will always carry her love with us.
