I loved scrolling through the pictures that were on the site.  It gives you a peek into the type of man Bernie was. My heart-felt condolences to the family.  Sorry I was not able to be at the memorial...3 of 4 people in my house have COVID. I pray God covers you with his peace during this time.

Will always remember growing up, spending many days and nights at their home and feeling like I was part of The DeJesus Family. Isabel always wanting to feed me and Bernardo sharing stories. Going down to the basement to see his roosters. What a wonderful family man he was and my only regret is not seeing them more often in these past years. I will always remember when I sat at Iris' house and Bernardo helped me with a school project. He had the sweetest soul and I enjoyed listening to him telling me stories. It will always be a memory I hold with me.  Sending love, Lucy Munds

Why is it we always wait for someone to pass before we acknowledge the love we have for them? This is for the entire Dejesus family beginning with the matriarch Isabel you all have welcomed my whole family with open arms . If it was as simple as spending the night getting in trouble together , or for the holidays we know your Home was always a safe haven. I thank Isabel and Bernardo for always making sure I was safe growing up. Always remember never live with regrets do the best we can for each other while we’re here on earth because tomorrow is not promised.

  The Memories of My Father come Alive as I think back of all those times..  He was Definitely A Proud Husband as Well as A Proud Father of 5.. From being that little Boy just hanging out with Him.. Waiting for him to come Hm.. wanting to always be with him..  going to The Park.. learning to Swim in Lake Michigan ..  A ride in the Car around the City.. To  A Family or Friends house.. helping him in his Gardens.. Going to the Horse Track and even Rooster Fights. I remember Playing games for Entertainment at the house ..Bingo ..Lottery.. All The Many Card Games.. My 8th grade Graduation.. The Suit he bought me.. To when he Cosigned for My First car..  .Even when I messed up.. he would Always encourage me to do better.. My Father was Always a Hard Worker.. My Mother Supported  his everything.. He was a Easy going Man.. With Strong Values.. Yet so Simple. Treat People The Way you wanted to Be Treated.. He was A Humble Man.. Polite.. Well mannered.. Kind.. Caring .. Respectful.. Lovable.. Big Hearted.. Loved Family n Friends.. Do anything for anyone.. I remember Going to Birthday Parties .. Events n Gatherings of All Sorts ..We were Clean ..Dressed Nice n Well Mannered wherever we went.. if u messed up.. u would see The Strict side of him.. it was Firm but Fair.. If you knew him.. You had Love for him.. If U didn't, but you were around him.. you would want to know him,  because, He Showed Love.. All Those Values he Instituted in Us.. Made Us who We are Today... 
I will Definitely Miss My Father..  
God Willing, I will see Him again.. 

I'm So Proud To Say.. I AM MY FATHER`S SON.. 

I cannot remember my father ever being in a bad mood. He was never grumpy, impatient or short with us.  If he was going to punish us he explained why and apologized afterwards.  He taught me work ethic, taught me how to dance,  taught me that your word is important and taught me that being well read and informed about the world around me was necessary.  I didn’t grow up with everything I wanted but I grew up with everything I needed.  My dad gave me that and made it look easy. I’m really going to miss my dad. 

Always took us to see karate movies at parkway theater and sometimes the whole neighborhood came with to drive in . We would pack up the car and we would go . He immediately went to the horse races and then came back before the movies ended and sometimes  caught the end of the last movie . Awesome childhood memories
