Catherine Louise “Kay” Phelps, 67, nee Gruenewald of Chicago, passed away on Wednesday August 13, 2014 at Swedish Covenant Hopital in Chicago. Born in Chicago on Tuesday September 3, 1946 to Harry and Marion (Longo) Gruenewald. Beloved wife of Thomas; devoted mother of Laura (Mike Lundgren) Kelly and James (Katie) Phelps; cherished grandmother of Caitlin Kelly, Anna Kelly and Thora Phelps; loving sister of Karen (Mike) Hamby and Gary (Joe Ciorlieri) Gruenewald; dear aunt of Melissa, Dayna and many other nieces and nephews. Visitation Sunday August 17, 2014 from 3-9pm at Drake & Son Funeral Home 5303 N. Western Avenue Chicago where prayers will be said 10:15am Monday August 18, 2014 to Queen of Angels Church for an 11:15am mass. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery Niles, IL.
