Clivia Elizabeth Campos was born in La Unión, El Salvador, and passed away peacefully in Chicago, Illinois, surrounded by her loving family. A devout Catholic, Clivia lived her life guided by her unwavering faith in God, instilling deep values of faith, family, and love in her children, grandchildren, and all those she welcomed into her heart.
At the age of 26, Clivia immigrated from El Salvador to Chicago, where she built a life rooted in hard work, sacrifice, and devotion to family. It was there that she met the love of her life, Jorge, with whom she shared 44 incredible years of marriage. Together, they created a home filled with love, resilience, and faith.
Clivia was an incredibly hardworking woman who dedicated her life to moving her family forward. Education was of great importance to her, and she worked tirelessly to ensure her children had every opportunity to succeed. She truly lived her faith, practicing God’s teachings to honor thy mother and father and to love thy neighbor. Selfless to her core, Clivia would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need.
Her love extended far beyond her immediate family. Clivia raised and cared for many children throughout her life, treating them as her own. She was a mother, grandmother, and guiding presence to countless lives, including Mary Grace and Jack, and was truly a member of every family she touched.
Elegant and full of grace, Clivia had a love for the color pink and lived by the words, “antes muerta que sencilla.” Her kindness, generosity, and strength left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She is now reunited in heaven with her cherished mother and father, Jose Rogelio Serrano and Faustina Lazo de Serrano.
Clivia is survived by her beloved husband, Jorge; her four children, Marina (Frank) Waller, Carlos (Melissa) Campos, Ofelia (Michael) Campos, and Jorge Campos Jr.; her seven adored grandchildren, Josselyn, Joshua, Alani, Carlos Jr., Penelope, Joey, and Victoria; and her loving siblings, Alfredo Lazo, Carmen Toro, Carlos Espinoza, Joaquin Serrano, and Bertha de Diaz.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Steager family and the Dowdle family for their love, support, and the cherished bond they shared with Clivia throughout her life.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the life of Clivia Elizabeth Campos, for her faith, her love, and the example she set for her family and all who knew her. We ask that You welcome her into Your eternal embrace, grant her everlasting peace, and comfort those she leaves behind with the promise of Your love and mercy. May her soul rest in Your glory, and may her legacy of faith and kindness continue to live on through generations.
AMEN!
