He is survived by his daughters Melissa and Michele, his grandchildren Leah, Nathan, and Zoe, his son-in-law
Robert, his niece Laura, and great-nephew David.
Born April 6, 1942, Dennis was a hard-working, generous, caring, funny, and loving father, grandfather, brother, son and friend. Born in Claflin, Kansas, he grew up in the quiet countryside before enlisting in the United States Army, where he served from 1962 to 1968.
He worked as a Purchasing Agent for electrical companies, eventually ending his career retiring from Gibson Electric in 2008. He loved anything related to sports, especially the Chicago Bears,
Blackhawks, White Sox and ISU Redbirds. You could find him relaxing and watching a sports game on any day. Home projects, fishing, anything outdoors, reading, music, and spending time
with family and friends were amongst many hobbies and activities he enjoyed to the fullest.
A resident of Merrionette Park, he created meaningful friendships and left a mark on his community. To know him was to have a bright light in a time of darkness, and a helping hand in a time of need. Anyone who knew Dennis knew that he was the most loving father and grandfather that a family could ever ask for.
