Dennis J. Ochal

Dennis J. Ochal, retired U.S. Army, passed away on May 5, 2025 at the age of 75. Beloved Son of the late Andrew and Catherine, nee Kralcik. Dear Brother of Betty Lou (the late James) Kubat, Carl (Margaret), and the late Deanna (the late Ralph) Blazes, Theodore (the late Irene), and Timothy. Fond Uncle of Annette (Jeff) Stepien, Melissa Swierad, and Suzanne Blazes; and Great-Uncle of 4.

Dennis retired as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army with the 5th Finance Support Unit, where he served as an accountant. He also served one tour of duty in Vietnam for which he was awarded the Bronze Star. During his service he was stationed all over the world, notably in Japan, South Korea, and Germany. He loved to play the drums, listen to polka music, and cheer on his beloved Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. Some of his fondest memories were made at the poker table with his siblings.

A Visitation for Dennis will take place Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Andrew J. McGann and Son Funeral Home, 10727 S. Pulaski Rd. Chicago, IL 60655. Funeral procession will begin at 10:30 AM to St. Terrence Church of Incarnation Parish, 4300 W 119th Pl, Alsip, IL 60803 for the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment to promptly follow at 1:00 PM Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
