Diane was a lifelong Chicagoan. She graduated from Immaculata High School and Loyola University. She was an actress in high school and college and met her future husband, the late Michael H. Postilion, on the stage. Before having children, she worked at a home for unwed mothers. She was divorced from Michael in 1969, and thereafter relished her independence. She went back to school and received a Master’s Degree from Loyola University. She taught at several Chicago Public Schools, including the Little Big Horn school within Senn High School. During this time, she dedicated herself to teaching in her community. She worked tirelessly for the benefit of the Lakewood-Balmoral neighborhood, along with her good friends, the late Marion Kennedy Volini, the late Marge Britton and so many others. She lost her cherished daughter, Helen, in 1990 and retired shortly afterwards, devoting the rest of her life to supporting the wellbeing of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an engaging member of Movie Club, The Ladies Who Lunch, and Book Club. She had a song for every occasion, and a kind word for every person she met. We love her a bushel and a peck and will miss her dearly.
