I'll never forget how impressed Don Sr. was when we were at Kristin's College Graduation party and he was wanting to find a bottle opener for his boat.  I found exactly what he wanted in a few minutes on Amazon and had it shipped to his home in just a few days.  He was blown away by it and used to talked about that every time I saw him at future family gatherings.

Donnie you will be so, so missed dear friend.  Remembering all the good times we had; playing cards, shooting bean bags, on the boat, Easters and Thanksgivings.  You carved that turkey like no one else!  RIP buddy!

RIP my friend. We were so thankful to know you and call you are friend. So many great things we all did together and I will always be thankful for being so kind to our mother (Ann). Thank you for all your hard work with CFD!

Don Sr.. was the life of every family party.  Always looking for a stock tip and ready with a sly smile and laugh.  He loved his family dearly and was so very proud of them.  He just beamed around his kids and their families.  He will be missed!  But we all can see him every time we look at the faces of his son Don, his grandson Matt and his great grandson Michael.   And in the eyes of his grand daughter Kristin!  Enjoy heaven Don Sr. as much as we all got to enjoy you!!!

Don was very special. He was just a great guy. Gus and I feel his  loss and definitely will miss him. Rest In Peace Don. 

He was a good man and my friend. He will be missed greatly at the Compound. 

My prayers and condolences to his family. I have a lot of great memories of Mr. Thelen. He was a great friend to my father, Footsie. May he rest in peace. 

Don, you have been a part of my life since I was a baby and I have the fondest memories of you from Michigan to Chicago to Florida.  From all the boat rides , dancing , playing bags , watching you build my garage and having some laughs with you and my dad! You are my family and always will be now your with your buddy , thanks for being like another father to me especially after my father died , I will take with me the memories always and forever , no more pain for you . Thanks for always being by my side and loving the Tetzner’s   , we love you so much and will miss you , this is a tough one for me , as my dad would always  say to you  , see u later handsome . 💔

You taught us so much in life Grandpa. You were such a great dad, Father in law,  grandfather, and great grandpa "Thelen". You were the life of every party. You taught me to never let anyone or anything bring me down and always live life to the fullest. You were generous and kind. You loved us and were always there. Just like "old blue." You were an incredible friend to everyone. You always listened to me when I needed advice and heard me out. You loved horses almost as much as me  and always said you were going to buy my first horse and ride with me. You were "grandpa with the big boat." -you loved boating. You loved to build birdhouses and beanbag boards and were a great carpenter and fireman. You taught my kids therapy was tying a 2x4 to a string with a balloon and punching the balloon. My kids loved being around you especially going to your house because you always had candy and cookies for them. You loved Halloween because of all the kids that came to trick or treat at your house. You showed us the life in Fort Myers, that was your FAVORITE place to be. You hated and I mean HATED hair wraps and ear piercings, you always yelled at me about them lol. I was the only one that was able to convince you to come in the past few Christmases before you got sick, and you know what? It was AWESOME. You guys would sit around my kitchen table and drink a bottle of schnapps and not leave til it was gone (or when my brother would make you leave with him because he was your DD😆). -you ignored my calls for days in advance because you couldn't "lie" to me about coming in and surprising us... Grandpa my list of "YOU" could go on and on. We are heartbroken that you are no longer here with us. We are heartbroken you will not be at our wedding this year and so many other things. I love you so much and will miss you everyday. I hope you are finally at peace up there drinking some Coors Light and playing bean bags on a beach somewhere. REST IN PEACE GRANDPA THELEN, You were the BEST❤
