She was born and raised in Romania, and then met the love of her life John Seeler in Austria and they were married in 1954. In 1955, the couple emigrated to the United States starting their life in Indiana and ending up in Chicago. Dorothy worked for Lutz’s Bakery for almost 25 years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and was known for her love of cooking and baking. Dorothy loved to socialize with family and friends and enjoyed parties and barbeques.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John and her brother, Heinrich Geisheimer.
Dorothy is survived by, three children, Trudy McGee, Betty Seeler and Debbie Seeler (fiancé Kevin O’Kane).
Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at 11:30am on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Drake & Son Funeral Home, 5303 North Western Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60625 with burial to follow at Rosehill Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:30am until the time of service.
