Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Juhlin

Betty was born June 2, 1938 in Chicago to Francis Kane & Helen Drake Kane. She grew up in Woodlawn, spent her teen years in Brighton Park and lived most of the remainder of her life in Rogers Park, always preferring to live as close to the lake as possible.

She married Wayne P. Juhlin on October 17, 1959, separating in 1973 and divorcing years later.

Devoted and Supportive Mother to Jill (the late George) Murphy, the late Christine (Tina) Juhlin, Amy Yalowitz and her amazing caregiver and only son, Michael Juhlin. Beloved and proud Grandmother to Jason, Fawna, Christoper and Clayton Demma, Theresa and Rebecca Murphy, Rhiannon and Ryleigh Yalowitz. Loving Great Grandmother to Justice and Jade Taylor, Julian Taylor Demma, Lara and Lincoln Demma. Devoted eldest Sister to the late John Thomas (Dorothy) Kane, Kathy Bataoel, Michael Kane, the late Jimmy Kane, and Margie Kane. Cherished Stepdaughter of Bob Pouliot. Fond Aunt of Gregg, Dag, Donna Juhlin and Karen and Kristine Kane. Dear Cousin of Bill Frantz, Mary Lynne, Mary Carroll and many others.

After many years at home raising her children, she returned to work. She enjoyed many decades as a dedicated employee at the National Backgammon League, Star Personnel, Arrow Messenger and Navy Pier. Each of these jobs brought her new friends and experiences and kept her active and involved into her 80’s.

A visitation for Betty will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Drake & Son Funeral Home, 5303 North Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60625, with a time of sharing from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
