Eric was born and raised in Chicago and carried with him a lifelong love of the city, its people, and its sports teams. A passionate photographer in his younger years, he went on to spend over 35 years in retail management, where he was admired for his leadership and steady presence.
Eric’s faith in God was the foundation of his life. As a God fearing man, he lived by example through kindness, patience, and love for others. His quiet strength reflected his trust in the Lord, and his family takes comfort knowing his journey continues in God’s eternal care.
Eric married the love of his life, Lucy, and together they built a strong, loving family over the past 33 years. He was a devoted husband and a proud father to Erin, Christine, and Cynthia. He is reunited in heaven with his children Elliot (2024) and Melissa (2016).
Eric is survived by his beloved wife Lucy; daughters Erin, Christine, and Cynthia; his sons-in-law Pedro and Luis, with whom he shared a deep fatherly and mentor-like bond; his 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and his siblings Joyce, Patricia, Vivian, Terry, Lynette, Francine, and Felicia; and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings Dorothy (2022) and Jerry (2005).
Known fondly by his nickname “Funnyman,” Eric had a gift for laughter and for bringing joy to those around him. Though he was a quiet and patient man, his presence filled every room—whether with his booming laugh, his warm spirit, or the comfort of his steady guidance. A lifelong Chicago White Sox, Bulls, and Blackhawks fan, he never missed a chance to cheer on his teams. He was also a master on the grill, making every gathering with family and friends feel special.
He leaves a rich legacy of love, humor, and guidance that will continue to inspire and live on in his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.
Though his earthly journey has ended, we rejoice in knowing that Eric is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and we find peace in God’s promise that we will one day be reunited with him in eternal life.
