I just heard your Dad passed away. I am so sorry for your loss. Your Dad use to come to give my Mom Communion and always had a joke or a story for her. He made her life so much easier just by coming by. My Dad and Mom both liked Fred so much and I know they would have liked me to tell you so. When my brother Mike passed away Fred wrote a poem for him, it was such a comfort to my parents. It was even posted in the Transfiguration Bulletin.Your Dad was a wonderful person and I know they would have wanted me to tell you how much he touched their lives. I am sure he is with my Mom and Dad in heaven right now and I wish you peace and comfort in knowing that.

I, too, was a student at Transfiguration, and my fondest memory of my childhood at that school/parish was Fred. Every Wednesday morning we had a school mass, and Fred was always there, usually leading the singing of hymns. Whenever Fred was there and I had to read in mass or act as altar server, Fred was always kind, sweet and friendly. Always. I will never forget that.

The last time I saw Fred was about 10 years ago or so, and it happened to be after a mass at Trans. He gave me a big hug and talked my ear off! He hadn't changed a bit, only this time, he was speaking to me like the adult, and like a friend. What a wonderful man.

To the Czerwionka family, please accept my sincerest condolences for your loss. I hope you take comfort in knowing that Fred touched so many lives and left such a warm and loving impression for so many.

I have wonderful memories of your time with us up in Thorp, WI...you will never be forgotten!  You will always remain a wonderful, active, vibrant man in my memory!

To the family of Fred Czerwionka:

I planned to come to this wonderful man's funeral with my sister, Nancy (Meyer) Kodl and brother, Dennis Meyer--but today I found out that it is necessary for me to stay back in my home in Greenwood, WI to help tomorrow in my husband's shop.
I am so sorry to miss all of you and want to extend my deepest sympathy to  you.
I will forever remember the kindness and love Uncle Fred always blessed everyone with!  He was a special and favorite uncle on mine.  I was also so lucky to have him and Aunt Mary as godparents.  I also remember while working as a mother's helper in summer of 1973 in Oak Park, Ill. Uncle Fred came and  picked me up every week on my day off---spending the day with me and helping me feel more safe and secure in the "big city" of Chicago!  Now after living in Austin, TX for 25 years and more years in other large cities, my husband, Jim and I have returned to our home state and live in Greenwood, WI.
Please know that you all will be remembered in our thoughts and prayers.

Dearest uncle Fred, You are what the heavens are about! You were such a footmark to follow and did you ever leave a legacy with your kids. Everyone nicer than the next. I can't believe a kid from the corn could find her way to this amazing family and be so fortunate to share my life as your kin. The time on poetry,teaching my son harmonica,building up a church our family calls ours,every place your life took you you glowed.You will always be a beacon to guide us.A life well lived i say. We will miss seeing Fred when we visit Chicago for family get-togethers. HIs was a life well lived and we will remember his zest for life, his stories and his poems. I went last nite and read the last one I remember his sharing with me. Please know our thoughts are with you in your loss.

No doubt Mr. Czerwionka is sharing in Our Lord's glory right now and my deepest sympathies to all his family.  I will never forget a saying of his many moons ago..."Next to flowers, God made girls most beautiful".  A truly classy man who will be missed.

Fred was the godfather of Trans...there for every Mass, every event, every celebration. He was incredibly kind to everyone he met.  I remember how he used to always tell me "Good Job!" after doing a reading at Mass...I came to expect and appreciate each of those pats on my back. He was a part of my life from Kindergarten to well into my 20's while at Trans, so to me he was like a grandfather.  God bless you, and keep you and your love Mary happy in His peace.

I haven't seen Mr.Czerwionka in many many years but to hear of his death saddens me. I remember what a good and kind man he was. Always doing the readings at Transfiguration masses and I remember when he used to go to River park swimming pool and swim laps. It seemed like he was there every day in the summer months. He must have been in his 70's when he was doing that. Kudo's to you Mr.C!!  I hope you are at peace with god now. My sympathies to Johnny, Michael and all of Mr.C's family members. You were blessed in having such a great man for a father.

Mr. Czerwionka has always been a very kind and gentle man. Never showing anger, always smiling, caring, and was a great role model for many, many generations. I will miss his many stories, lessons of life, and his helpful advice of how to stay mentally and physically fit. Rest in peace Mr. C, and my God show you the everlasting glory of his kingdom.
