

Born in Chicago on April 14, 1942, she is the daughter and oldest child of six of Steven and Grace Valos (nee Hogan) who predeceased her.
Cherished mother of Stratford Shields (Nancy) and grandmother of Meredith Shields. Dear sister of Robert (Virginia), Gregory (Linda), Nicholas (Georgiana), Gracie Stringer (Frank) and Gloria Nelson (Al) and beloved aunt and cousin.
A graduate of Tuley High School on the Northwest Side of Chicago, she was the first of her family to attend college. She graduated from the University of Chicago with a BA in Economics and obtained a JD from the Illinois Institute of Technology - Chicago Kent College of Law. She worked as a lawyer, stockbroker and systems analyst in her career. Always interested in politics, she was a candidate for Governor of Illinois in 1978 on the Libertarian line. She enjoyed practicing ballet and singing and was active in Karate and Taekwondo for nearly 40 years obtaining a 4th degree black belt.
A visitation for Georgia will be held Sunday, January 5, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Drake & Son Funeral Home, 5303 North Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60625 with words of remembrance being shared at 4PM.
