

Harriet Ursula Carver (Zielinski) passed away peacefully in her home, with her beloved son by her side, on January 12, 2026, at the age of 74 years. Born May 25, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, Harriet was a cherished resident of Roselle, Illinois.
Harriet is survived by her loving son, Nicholas Carver, and his significant other, Gina Schinler, as well as Gina's daughter, Tiana Schinler. She is also remembered by her nephews and nieces: Paul Zielinski, Diane Zielinski, Jennifer Zielinski, and Tammy Zielinski, along with her great-nephews, Cole Zielinski and Angel Real, and her great-niece, Nicole Real.
Preceding her in death were her loving parents, John and Tamara Zielinski, her brothers, Richard Zielinski and Victor Zielinski, and her former husband, John Patrick Carver. Harriet's significant other, Mel Derdzinski, also holds a special place in her memory.
A graduate of St. Hedwig Catholic School in Chicago, Illinois, Harriet worked at Firewater Saloon, as a Real Estate Agent, at Cheers of Roselle, and at Du-Comm Public Safety Communications, where she received commendations for 25 years of service as a Du-Comm 9-1-1 Dispatcher.
Harriet was an avid fisherwoman, a softball champion, and enjoyed fencing, darts, bowling, brandy, and channel surfing. She will be best remembered for her devout Catholic faith, quick wit, unprecedented candor, and unique charm.
Visitation will be held at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 North Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60646, on January 20, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. The funeral service will follow at Saint John Brebeuf Parish, 8305 N Harlem Ave, Niles, IL 60714, at 12:00 pm. The committal service will take place at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, 8600 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714.
Harriet will be lovingly remembered by her family, including her son, brothers, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
