

Jaime Tejeda, age 76, formerly of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025 and his beloved wife Anita Tejeda, age 71 of Chicago, Illinois passed away suddenly and peacefully on August 7, 2025. Both Jaime and Anita were surrounded by love and comfort of devoted family.
Born on November 19, 1948, to the late Abraham Tejeda and Maria de la Paz Adame, Jaime lived a life defined by unwavering love, generosity, and purpose.
Jaime shared 53 beautiful years of marriage with his soulmate, Anita Tejeda. Their union was a shining example of love and partnership, built on faith.
He leaves behind a legacy carried forward by his children: Christopher Ricardo (Fanny Carolina) Tejeda, Yezenia P. (Victor) Martinez, Aisha (Julio) Mercado, and the memory of his beloved son, the late Joshua Andres Tejeda. His spirit lives on through his cherished grandchildren: Christopher Nathaniel Tejeda, Julian Zacharias Tejeda, Jonath Alexio Tejeda, Sean X. Pferschy, Cristiano Andres Tejeda, Xander X. Lymon, Layla Tiyanna Martinez, Samantha Martinez, and Isabella A. Mercado. Each one held a special place in his heart and brought him immeasurable pride and joy.
Jaime was a loving brother to Efrem (Letricia) Tejeda, Adrian (Elsa) Tejeda, Noe (Dora) Tejeda, Yvonne Tejeda, and lovingly remembered by the late Edith Mantos Tejeda (Fernando) and Marilu Tejeda.
Widely known as a proud futbolero, Jaime’s passion for soccer was matched only by his dedication to his community. He was a familiar and inspiring presence on and off the field, whether coaching young athletes, playing in local leagues, or rallying for causes close to his heart. Jaime was more than just a community member; he was a true community activista, always advocating, always serving, always giving.
His absence leaves a profound void, but his legacy of love, strength, and service will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. His family misses him dearly, but they find comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on in every life he touched.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Andrew J. McGann and Son Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 10:00 am located at Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 7114 S. Hamlin Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park, Illinois.
