Jarrett Joseph Lawler, 31, of Chicago, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 6, 2025. Born September 8, 1993, he was the beloved son of Robert and Julia; cherished brother of Jillian, Rebecca, Robert Jr. (Sovann), Justin, and Ryan; devoted uncle of Shane (Lexi), Blaine, Conley, William and Larkyn; loving great-uncle of August and Lily; dear cousin of too many to list; honorary brother of Mike McDowell; and fond friend to the countless people that knew him.
Jarrett was the youngest of six children. He grew up on the northwest side of Chicago. He had many interests throughout his life. Among those interests were skateboarding, anime, gaming and bowling. However, one of his biggest passions was cooking. Jarrett was a chef for nearly half of his life. Cooking for others was something he took pride in, and his time spent at various restaurants such as The Bristol and The Willow Room had a big impact on his life. Being in the kitchen, creating delicious meals, and feeding people were things that he truly loved to do. If you were fortunate enough to hang out with Jarrett, he didn’t just fill you with food, he filled you with kindness, laughter, and love. He was the kind of person who made friends wherever he went, and if you were one of those friends there was no limit to the lengths he would go to make sure you knew it. He was funny, full of life, and he loved bringing people together. Since he left, the world seems a little darker. He is gone too soon, and he will be dearly missed by all those who love him.
A visitation for Jarrett will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home, 6901 West Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL 60634. Jarrett’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 17, 2025, at St. Celestine Catholic Church, 3020 N. 76th Court, Elmwood Park, IL 60707, immediately followed by a graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery and Mausoleum, 2905 North Thatcher Ave, River Grove, IL 60171.
