I am so sorry to hear about the passing of "Auntie Jayne."  She was always so kind and sweet.  I was so blessed by her willingness to drive me to church on Sundays during my high school years.  Her zest for life and being a light to others showed brightly. She will be missed.  Our prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time of loss.

My heartfelt condolences to the entire Gin family! Hearing of Jayne's homegoing reminds me of God's love and goodness embodied in his children. 

Jayne and Jackson  were kind, generous, welcoming and so gracious to me when I first arrived in Chicago from Boston. They offered friendship and a sense of family, sharing their lives and offering generous hospitality to me. I remember Jayne's cooking lessons and her typewritten cook book (which I still have). She told me I had good knife technique, a comment I treasure still! She took me roller blading for my first (and only?) time. She called me a wimp when I felt done after a few laps around the neighborhood park. I remember her training for hiking the Appalachian Trail and I thought what Chinese-American woman of her generation was planning such an endeavor! And I remember Jackson getting a hot sports car. She said, 'this is so much better than him finding a 'sweet young thing.''

Jayne was real, generous, loving and kind. She showed her love for Jesus in her actions. She suffers no more and is now with Jackson and the God she loved and served all her life.

My heartfelt condolences to all the Gin sons, daughters-in-love, grandchildren and extended family members. May God's Holy Spirit comfort you in your grief.

There are so many great memories for our family with Auntie Jayne!  I remember ski trips with delicious meals cooked up by Auntie Jayne.  It was such a comfort to know that we would have healthy, delicious food after a hard day on the slopes and a lot of fun creating some great memories!  

Over the years, we saw her heart for sharing God’s love in her own way with everyone, through cooking, listening, acts of service, and her patient, persistent way.  It blessed our family for sure!

One of the ways that we’ll never forget was how she ministered to Joshua after he became part of our family.  She understood a lot of the issues we faced and was an encouragement, listening ear, and someone who spent time with him to share the love of Christ.  

We will greatly miss Auntie Jayne - it will be strange not to see her greeting people at CCUC English Service, but she’ll be there to greet us again one day in the presence of Jesus!

From being a silly young man from Chicagoland whom you and your family took to Hawaii on my first trip to the islands to a silly senior citizen old man that has lived in Hawaii over thirty years....thank you so much for the life you lived, the hospitality you shared, and the love and food you so freely gave. I am incredibly grateful to God for you, Auntie Jayne, and will miss you here. I look forward to seeing you again in heaven and sharing a meal with you. Aloha and blessings!

I am so very sorry for the passing of Jayne. She was always smiling and cheerful and so very generous. She helped both Vivian and I when we made cross country trips by offering her home to us while visiting Chicago. Once was when Jackson was still with us and once when he had passed away. I was looking forward to seeing her again when she was coming to Hawaii this summer. I will miss her deeply and pray her family is comforted knowing she is now with the Lord Jesus Christ and united once again with Jack.

We have many fine memories of Jayne, who was such a great sister in Jesus Christ. Now she's resting in God's eternal peace. May God's peace and comfort be with you all!

Dear Paul, Mike, Dan, Jonathan, and Jeffrey,
Your dear mother was such a 'mother' in Chicago to me, my wife, and 'grandmother' to our son (Luke- being held here). She was a great encouragement in singlehood, in married life, when we served God overseas. We had blessed times of fellowship at her home on Michigan Ave. Remembered how hard she labored with patients to explain their finances, and talk with insurance companies, and her cooking food at Dr. Wong's office. What an incredible example of service (Mark 10:45). May she now rejoice in heaven with Jackson.

If I only knew my last visit with auntie Jayne in May would be my last, I would have told her how much I appreciated her in my life. She has always been an encouragement to me, Alyssa and Alex especially after losing Martin, even though she lost uncle Jack the same year. Her strong faith in the Lord, her resilience to live a full life of serving others through her generosity and hospitality is inspiring. 

Auntie Jayne loved so many deeply and her family the most. Our last conversation she said what a good life she had with uncle Jack, how proud she was that all her children love the Lord and her joy having grandkids and great grandkids.

Jayne Gin will truly be missed. She shared with all the talents that God generously gave her.  I was a fortunate recipient of her gifts. As a teenager, I was invited to join Jayne and Jackson’s family on several ski adventures. During these events, I was treated as a member of their family.   We cooked together and shared meals, as well as learned valuable ski tips! Truly  though, the most remarkable aspect of my time with them was the opportunity to experience the dynamics of a solid Christian family. I will always be grateful for my time with the Gin family.

Part 2
Everything was not sunshine and roses for Jayne.  She had an emptiness in her heart as she missed Jack tremendously.  She shared with us numerous times how much she missed him and how she was ready to join him and be with Jesus.  It was tough for her being in the condominium alone by herself without him.  Yet, she also said that as long as the Lord kept her here on earth, she would faithfully serve Him and use her God given gifts for Him until He called her home.  THAT SHE DID. She was faithful to her God until the very end.

To the Gin Family, our love and condolences to all of you.  We will all miss her in her various roles as a beloved mother, grandmother, Yin-Yin, Auntie, and lifelong friend.

Part 1
Jayne Gin and her husband Jack played such an intricate role in the Lee family.  They role modeled for us how to be a great husband-wife team, how to parent our children, how to be loyal, faithful, empathetic, loving, giving, caring, compassionate friends to others, and how to do all of the above and still find time to faithfully serve our Lord at church.
We remember with laughter and fondness the great times we had sharing numerous meals together, going to their Lake house, Jack and Jayne taking our young family camping, us watching their young boys (Young Whipper Snappers) grow into adulthood…..
We can’t count the number of meals Jayne has cooked in her service to our Lord.  It was her gift of hospitality that made so many newcomers to CCUC feel “welcomed and at home.” We remember the Labor Day Sports tournaments and how year after year, Jayne would agree to cook for the hundreds of athletes that would come throughout the Midwest and East coast to participate in it.
We remember the many “Cooking with Jayne” fellowship events where she would freely share her cooking expertise and recipes with us.  Then we would all feast and fellowship on our finished product together.  Those were wonderful times.
If one wasn’t at CCUC for a few weeks, Jayne noticed and would call you up on the phone, tell you how much she missed seeing you at church, encourage you to come back to church, invite you to her place for a meal to check on you and make sure you were doing OK.

Sincere condolences the  family and friends of Jayne Kan Gin. Our parents were friends from Chinese Christian Union Church. We used to pick them up from Concord Place to go to church in Chinatown. It is with great sadness to hear of your mother's passing.  Oh the wonderful memories we have from your Mt Prospect home with your entire family.  As she was known as Auntie Pinky to us, so incredibly genuine and always gracious taking mom with her on weekly grocery and vegetable stand shopping.  Once in a while one of us lucky kid got to tag along for the fun.  As, we go older her cooking talents were shared with one simple caveat... simple and quick... but oh so delicious. I'm sure alot of us will miss her greatly.  Cherish all your special memories as it will bring joy in times of missing a very special lady.  Hugs.
