Jazmin Betancourth

Was born in the town Calarcá in Colombia on February 6, 1929. She passed away on Thursday December 23rd 2021, she was 92 years old.

She was the youngest and the last survivor of her siblings.

Her parents were Roberto Zuluaga and Pastora Ramirez. Jazmin is survived by her children Yolanda, Yolima, Jannet, Héctor and Aldrin. Grandchildren Jennifer, Evelyn, Marcela, Natalia, Erika, Brandon, Isabela, Nathan and great granddaughter Viviana.

She lost her husband Hector back In February 20, 2021, just 10 months ago.

Jazmin met Hector Betancourt in the town of Calarcá in 1951 and after dating for a year, they married in 1952.

Jazmin finished high school and after marriage, she became a house wife. They had five children, three girls and two boys. Through the years they became inseparable, they were married for 68 years.

Yazmin was a strong-willed woman, she was always tough. She had to learn how to drive, just so she could drive her children to school.

She was the matriarch of the household.

She was respected and loved by all of her family. She was a loyal wife, and wonderful mother, she babysat for some of her grandchildren, and she was also a great aunt. She was a family person. She will be dearly missed.

A visitation for Jazmin will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Drake & Son Funeral Home, 5303 North Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60625. A visitation will occur Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 5303 North Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60625. A funeral service will occur Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 5303 North Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60625. A committal service will occur Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Rosehill Cemetery, 5800 North Ravenswood Ave, Chicago, IL 60660.
