John Henry Grochowski

John H. Grochowski, passed away on April 9, 2025, at age 83. Beloved husband of the late Alice Grochowski. Loving father of Julie Fitzpatrick (Donald Cates), Carrie (Richard) Prus, Valerie (Curt) Czarnik, and Aaron (Lori) Grochowski. Devoted grandfather of Ryan (Pepper), Matthew (Emily), Kristin (Dylan), Jamie (Matthew “Buzz”), Rachel (Pierce), Katelyn (Chris), Sean, Lindsay, Evan, Evelyn, Riley, and Benjamin. Dear brother of Irene (the late John) Pucek, the late Walter (Charmaine) Grochowski, the late Helen (the late Robert) Morrison, the late Edward (Beverly) Grochowski, Francis (the late Stanley) Kulka, the late Jean (the late Kelly) Kowalski, the late Stella (the late William) Lis, Thaddeus (Arlene) Grochowski, Dolores (Joseph) Nardi, Anthony (Jackie) Grochowski, and James (late Diane) Grochowski. Fond uncle to many nieces and nephews.

John was born in Chicago, IL on April 6, 1942. He was a licensed barber and retired from Charles Levy Circulating Company where he worked for 46 years as a delivery driver. He enjoyed his pool, camping, traveling (especially cruises), and making cheesecakes. His greatest joy came from his wife, kids, and grandchildren’s activities and events.

He never forgot a birthday and celebrated by always sending a card. Some lucky folks might have even received a call from “DJ John G” singing his special birthday song. John made an impression on everyone he met, talking and joking with anyone that would listen.
