

He was born to Hermogenes Ramos & Catalina Rodriguez, on April 18, 1932. He left P.R. at age 18 for Chicago where he worked for Skokie School District 68 as head custodian for Old Orchard Jr High and Jane Stenson Elementary.
He led a rich life filled with lots of laughter, a big love of baseball, many, many pets, cigars and a strong love for all things pertaining to his beloved Puerto Rico. He laughed the most when with his wife of 49 years, Nilda. Together, they always opened their home to any and all.
He was preceded in death by wife Nilda and daughter Margie.
He is survived by children, Dennis, Tony & Steven, stepchildren Mario and James and other family members including Eduardo, Noelia, Nicolai, Annette, Jimmy Jr and more.
Loved ones will gather for a visitation to celebrate Leonides on Friday, April 12th, 2024 from 9 - 11AM at Drake and Son Funeral Home at 5303 North Western Avenue, Chicago, IL. A funeral mass will then take place at 11:30AM at Queen of Angels Church at Queen of Apostles Parish, 2330 West Sunnyside Avenue, Chicago, IL 60625. Burial will then follow immediately after at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Belmont and Cumberland Avenues, River Grove, IL 60171
