Manuel Sambrano Valencia Sr, 91, passed away peacefully at the hospital on March 6, 2022. He joined his late beloved wife of over sixty years, Prisca Hipol Valencia, in Heaven.
Manuel survived by his adoring children Manuel H Valencia Jr, Eduardo H Valencia, Roberto H Valencia, Irine V. Fagaragan, Milagros V Alonso, Rowena Taguinod, Carla Valencia and Karina Valencia. His cherished grandchildren, Richie Capili, Chivas “Mario” Valencia, Dennis Valencia, Edward Valencia, Francesca Fagaragan, Alexis Fagaragan, Edwin Alonso Jr. “EJ”, Pat Alonso, Katrina Alonso, John Paul Alonso, Alyana Taguinod, and Juan Paulo Antonio V. Agustin. And his great grandchildren, Jasmine Derequito, Elija Capili and Khaed Valencia. He was a beloved brother to Pascual Valenciano and Isabel Valenciano Navarra. He is predeceased by his daughter, Marivic Valencia and Celso Parado and Marciana Sambrano.
Manuel was a hard worker and a good provider to his family. Manuel worked in a construction company for more than 20 years. He started as a dispatcher and then supervised equipment operation being utilized for safety and maximum efficiency. Manuel was a great leader. He talked about his experience and fond memories working at Construction Development Corp of the Phils (CDCP) especially the five years he spent in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. That was the highlight of his career, performed duties as General Foreman of Transport & Earthmoving. He was in-charge of 34 units trailer and supervised activities of personnel engaged in hauling operation for delivery accuracy. Coordinated with Project Engineer regarding deliveries and work schedules, Technical Supervisor regarding field activities/equipment destination and Maintenance Personnel on equipment maintenance activities. Manuel was well respected at work and everyone admired his perfectionism and dedication for his job. Never been absent and rarely called in sick. He has helped his family and friends by employing them to work for CDCP. Manuel was very generous and caring to his family. He never stopped working so he can provide and support his family. He worked at Freight cargo company and retired at age of 76.
Memorial visitation will be held on March 20, 2022 at Drake and Son Funeral Home, 5303 N Western Ave, Chicago from 4:00 to 9:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:30 pm.
Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy, 4432 N Troy Street, Chicago on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 10:00 am.
