Mary E. Masterson Retired Chicago P.D., age 62, passed away on April 24, 2015 surrounded by her children after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Loving mother of Michael CPD (Julie) Putrow, Joseph Putrow CPD (Kristy Kane) and Beth Putrow (Mike Wrightsman). Proud Grandmother of Emma and Nicole. Caring daughter of the late Clara and Michael Masterson. Dearest sister of Patricia (John) Hills and Maureen Guhr. Special aunt to Michael (Nancy) Hills, Michelle (James) Pranckus, John (Chris) Hills and Terrence Guhr Jr. Great aunt to 7 nieces and nephews. Mary enjoyed all that life had to offer. She was one of the most generous people on this earth. If she saw someone in need, regardless if they were a friend or stranger, she was the first to offer assistance. Her compassion and generosity were recognized by all. Her sense of humor made all want to gravitate to her. She loved to travel, sing and entertain her friends. She was loved by all who knew her, which was evident by the hundreds of friends she had. She will be missed more than words can explain. She is with God now. At peace. No more pain.
