Hard to believe it's been 1 year already. Thankfully, our memories of you live on forever. Missing you fondly. #truthhurts #wellcarryon 

Michelle was such a giver and a life force for so many. Michelle would always be doing little things for people to feel loved and welcomed. I had the distinct pleasure of working with Michelle on occassion as a float nurse to her clinic.  She was always welcoming and willing to answer any question I had. As I had gotten to know her, we developed a special bond...and at the  end of my tenure at SRAlab, she ensured that she found me to give me well wishes and tell me she would miss me. We are to be making plans to meet for breakfast or lunch in the not to distant future. What foreshadowing as now I am the one missing a life force gone way too soon, but she can do us all much more wonderful things from where she is right now. Please take consolation in knowing that Michelle was loved by so many people and that she did amazing things while her with us all. I look forward to what God harms in store for her and meeting her on the flipside again one day.

First of all I would like to say how sorry I am to hear about the loss of a truly Amazing Person. One time in my Life I had the Pleasure of calling Michelle my Girlfriend.The memories I have are Awesome and so Fond. You always knew how to make me Smile and Laugh, Today I am a Better Person to have Known you, You may be gone, But you will forever Live in my Heart. Thank You so much for being You, No One did it better. I hope one Day to be Back in Baby's Arms. To Sis and the rest of the Family, Again I'm so sorry for Your Loss. I Love You Michelle !

I still can't believe.  

It truly saddens by the thought of never having our talks about work or just some funny things that happen in life. From something that happen on the way to work or something that happen at work.   All of us going out for happy hours.  You and I had our ups and downs but in the end we always had each other's back and we were like siblings.  We would discuss life, Barry, and your mom.  I wish I could talk about what we last talked about, but I can't on here. Having you join the MSK team when we moved over was sure fun.  It was fun working with you until I left the team and transferred to Northbrook.  I loved having you come out to each going away party and then you asking how many more and me saying they keep changing my leave date.  I knew that once I left MSK team they would be good because they had you.  I'm truly going to miss you Michelle.   Ryan your mom was the greatest and strongest person I have met and loved you so much.

Michelle would light up a room when she walked in. It didn’t matter if she was happy or upset, I was always happy to see her. I will forever miss seeing her at the other end of the hallway when she would do one of her goofy dance moves to make me laugh. I will miss her crazy animal stories and her love for animals. I mean who cooks chicken and puts it outside in the middle of Winter, so the stray animals can eat?
There is a huge void here at SRAlab. Michelle, you cannot be replaced and you will forever be missed! 
Ryan, Bear and family, I am  so truly sorry for your loss. 

Oh boy, I don’t even know where to start. While there are an abundance of memories to share, the ones that stand out are the ones that had us in laughing tears. Working in 15S was such a blast, but mainly because of you. Your energy and merriness was contagious. I would excitedly make lists of funny stories and memes some nights to show you at work the next day. I am forever thankful for the texts and photos I have saved on my phone that exhibit the wondrous and hilarious person that you are. I am thankful that you got to meet my rescue dog, Penny, last month and that I got to meet your beautiful animal family (burp, too ❤️). But I am so sad that I never got to meet your son, Ryan. As all of these posts already say, you were the proudest mom.

Michelle, I can’t believe we never got to see MCR at riot fest. But I know you’ll be there right next to Gerard when they finally play in Chicago. I can’t help but cackle at one of the best nights ever when we went to go see Jared Leto perform and you ran to flag down an ice cream truck because you knew how much I loved Choco tacos. 

Ice cream aside, that’s just a small fragment of the things I could say about your abundant generosity. I have never felt more appreciated and loved by a colleague than when you created and distributed personal “Anna” pins and nominated me as staff of the month. I cherish the card that came along with it. It has been on my fridge ever since. That is a feeling you cannot buy or reenact. I am so blessed that we not only worked together, but we established a friendship.

Most of all, you were thoughtful and considerate. You were there for me after the death of a close friend and you always supported me while taking care of my sick mom. You never got to meet her but even when you were sick, you took the time to ask about her.

I am so truly saddened about the loss of such a sweet, loving soul. I worked with Michelle at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab when I was in training. She was such a vibrant, wonderful, patient, and warm coworker and friend. She would always sneak me treats on my desk and went above and beyond to make me smile everyday (a sign of her compassion and selflessness that was ever present). She was this way with all of our staff and patients, and was a complete joy to work with. I am sending my deepest condolences and hugs to her family, son, Ryan, and dog, Bear, in this tremendously difficult time. Although I never knew Ryan and Bear, I felt I did through her stories and photos that she proudly shared. Rest In Peace, sweet Michelle. 

My Michelle!  Working with you has truly been a pleasure. You were  not just a Co-worker but you were my friend. I'll never forget you yelling down the hallway saying "Hey Jazzy" when you would see me. Seeing your smile made me so happy. You were happy even on you worst days and you made me happy even on mine. You were always doing a million things at once and never got tired. I would ask for favors and you would always help me out no matter what you had to do. It breaks my heart to know that I will never see you again or hear your voice. Thank you for being my friend and Thank you for the memories and the laughs!

I am deeply saddened to hear of Michelle’s passing.  Michelle was an absolute joy to work with.  She had a way of putting everyone at ease and bringing laughter and warmth into the workplace every single day.  She spoke often about her son Ryan, her family, and her dog Barry; she cared for them so much and though I never had the chance to meet any of them, my thoughts and prayers are with them – I hope they know how loved and valued Michelle was by her coworkers and her patients.  She was just wonderful – a vibrant and beautiful soul.  I am fortunate to have had the chance to count Michelle as a friend and I will remember her most fondly.  

My dear friend Michelle, ohh how much I miss you already!  We had so many fun times together ❤️!  I’m so grateful that God put us in each-other’s path (we started working together when the Shirley Ryan Abilitylab opened it’s doors).  We all became this awesome little family who would bump heads from time to time but at the end of the day we all had each other’s  ❤️!  I’m going to miss your smile, your hugs and most of all, our talks together.  One of my favorite memories with you was when we went out on our date night ~ Dinner & Drinks @ Tango Sur, then walking over to The Music Box to watch ‘The House that Jack Built’ and then leaving the theater and walking into an Amazing Winter Wonderland ❄️ !  You will never be forgotten.  Rest In Peace my dear friend!  I love you and you will forever hold a place in my heart!

I use to see Michelle everyday when she would take the train from the Kedzie brown line stop. I use to work at that station and we would talk about anything and everything. Every now and then she would grab me a coffee as well when she would swing by Dunkin Donuts. A great soul gone too soon. It was great meeting you Michelle, until we meet again! My condolences to the family. Prayers and thoughts are with you. 

I'm so sad to hear this news. Michelle was such a joy, a lively spirit with the greatest sense of humor. My deepest condolences to her family, she spoke of you all all the time.  Remember all the good times you shared, love and hug one another often. She is smiling and watching over you, and know that she loves you dearly. Love you Shelly, I still have the magnet you gave to me on my fridge. I will forever cherish our time we shared at NCO.

I have so many great memories with Michelle.  Shared so much laughter.  She always talked about her son Ryan and how much she loved him.  Rest in peace my friend 😔 

Michelle you will be missed more than you could ever know. We had so much fun at work even on bad days. I’ll miss so many things about you but especially your genuineness and your funny stories (especially the cousin Butchie ones). We were gonna take you out for drinks after you finished chemo but COVID ruined our plans. I’ll definitely have a Claw just for you friend. I’ll see you on the other side. Ryan, your mom was so proud of you and talked about you so much that I feel like I know you personally lol. You and the rest of your family are in my prayers. Michelle you were my rockstar! 😘

I am so sorry to hear about Michelle. As a volunteer, we crossed paths just about every time I was there. She always had a smile and a great story about her dog. She will be deeply missed.

Michelle, your joyful spirit, warm nature, unmatched humor, genuine care, and impeccable work ethic made you the person I loved working along side. You could easily make us all laugh and see the funny things in life. Patients asked for you by name knowing that you had their interest at heart. We will forever miss you and be forever thankful that we were blessed to have known you. We love you, Michelle. 

Ryan, please know that your mom was so incredibly proud of you and loved you so very much.  Her eyes would sparkle and her lips turn up in a smile when talking about you, your childhood, your future.  We all loved watching and hearing her talk about you as it brought her and us such joy.  Our hearts are with you during this challenging time. 

Michelle was an amazing co worker. She always worked so hard and could seamlessly juggle several tasks at once. No one had to question whether the job would get done when Michelle was around. Our patients loved her and so did all of her co-workers.  Even more importantly, Michelle was a great person. She was compassionate and caring, witty and fun. I enjoyed getting to know her family through her stories. She was so proud of Ryan. When she was going through treatments, she told me that even though it wasn’t ideal, she didn’t mind it because she always got to spend the entire day with Ryan - she actually looked forward to those days. She talked often about her mom and her sweet dog. I'll never forget the kind notes and pictures she would draw on my schedule to make me smile.  Her loss will forever be felt by her work family and our patients.  My heart goes out to her family in this difficult time. 

Michelle’s absence is palpable. It is hard for me to believe that I won’t share a laugh or story with her, or see her from across the hallway, giving a quick wave while doing ten things at once for the clinic. She was a powerhouse of a woman; giving her all to her patients but at the same time always giving us the gift of shared laughter and goofiness, healthy venting, celebrating (she was the one I was most  excited to high five after election day) and everything in between. Things will never be the same here and to say she will be missed is a huge understatement. 

Michelle had an enormous heart for the patients and staff at SRALAB, and I know so many will be devastated to hear of her untimely passing. And as many others have noted, she had a special, unwavering love for her family and beloved pets. I will never forget the love and kindness she showed  my family and me when my brother’s dog Stella was brutally attacked. Michelle checked in with me every time she saw me. She donated to little Stella’s recovery fund and put up a get well picture on the wall, as part of her pet collage. (See photos!) I will always remember her this way: kind, caring, and smiling with joy at the thought of her dog Barry or son Ryan. 
I pray that her family may take comfort and find peace in the fact that Michelle’s light will live on inside so many people and animal’s hearts forever. She changed lives for the better and will never be forgotten.

I remember helping the clinic manager review resumes for hiring a new medical assistant, and none of them could hold a candle to Michelle's resume. That resume did not even come close to representing what a great clinician and teammate Michelle has been. She was always in motion, making sure that everything was handled exactly right. She had a way of making you feel that she was there to take care of you, which applied equally to the patients and to the physicians in clinic. So many patients would comment how much they loved working with Michelle.

Somehow, between all the tasks, she would find ways to create personal moments, often sharing about her beloved son and dog.  She helped me with my loss of each of my dogs, and she gently pushed me to become ready to welcome a new dog into my life.

I cannot believe that she won't be there to greet me in clinic. I am going to miss her so much.


Michelle was a special woman- strong and authentic; youthful and hilarious, with an incredible work ethic.    
We are a close knit group at work and I’m thankful for all the good times I spent with her at happy hours, dinners, and celebrations.  I have so many memories of us giggling at Pinstripes or Timothy O’Toole’s , over a glass of wine.  Or when she brought a mouthguard game to Maria’s game night, we laughed so hard.  
Michelle had a way of keeping things lighthearted, which is often needed in healthcare.      

There wasn’t a day that I worked with her, that she didn’t mention Ryan.  She was so proud of him, and excited about his and Meghan’s engagement.  She would talk about their annual trips to Universal Studios, always looking forward to the next one.   It was apparent how much she loved her family.  

I am devastated to have lost such a beautiful soul too soon.  May her family find comfort in God.  Rest in Peace dear Michelle.          


I always enjoyed working along side Michelle because nearly every time we would share a laugh that made the day better.  She was someone I wanted to be around because I knew we would have fun.  
We won't be able to fill the void of joy and love she brought to the workspace, but we'll definitely be sure to carry forward her attitude to the people we interact with.

I'll miss you Michelle. I'll be praying for you & your family.

Michelle, you were such a wonderful, sweet person, and I'll always remember the good times we had, especially the Robbie Fulks concerts. Sending all my love to Sis, Ryan, Lisa and the kids.

It feels like just yesterday Michelle was showing me the latest cat video or dog picture. Those moments were the best. Michelle always knew how to make a busy day of work feel so much more enjoyable.
Despite only knowing Michelle for a year and a half, I feel like I’ve known her a lifetime. When I started working for the MSK team she made me feel like family right from day one and I felt like I had so much to learn from her. She was always so committed to her work, kind-hearted to anyone who walked into our clinic, very smart and knowledgeable, passionate about what she believed in, and was so strong and free-spirited.  I feel so fortunate to have known Michelle. My heart goes out to Michelle’s family. 
Michelle will forever be missed but the memories will last forever. ❤️

I have such fond memories of Michelle. She was such a dynamo in clinic - all in the service of caring for patients and supporting her teammates and she was funny, too, which gifted each of us with lightness every day at work. Michelle also had such a great ability to laugh at herself. Yet what really stands out to me is how real and authentic Michelle was. I recall our conversations that centered around her love for her son and mother and her beloved dog - her deep love and caring and dedication was so clear and strong. And I always respected her vulnerability and openness when talking about those precious to her. 
Michelle, you represented the best of us - always being so connected and engaged, present no matter what. Thank you. I will miss you. And, even if only in some small way because we didn't know each other outside of work, I will miss getting to witness you realize all that you strived for. I am so sorry. I am truly heart broken and in disbelief that  Michelle has left us so soon. She was a wonderful person and coworker with such a big heart. I had the pleasure of working with her a few times and had wonderful conversations with her about family, pets and just daily little things we enjoyed. My condolences to the family. Michelle will truly be missed and her beautiful vibrant spirit. Rest in paradise beautiful.  

I have no words to how I have been feeling since I found out about Michelle's passing......I keep thinking "it can't be true, ill see her posts on fb and that its just not real." But its slowly starting to sink in and I am so sad and heart broken.....Michelle was an awesome co worker and I did not get to spend much time with her since we worked on opposite ends of the hallway but when I did work with her I noticed right away her hard work, dedication and the patients loved her, she was easy going, loved to laugh, and she would always say "hi" to me when she saw me even when we are rushing or in a hurry. She was such a strong person, brave and always there for a shoulder to lean on.. You are deeply missed Michelle and I my deepest condolences to her family. 💔😔 

I am so incredibly sad that someone so vibrant, generous and thoughtful could be gone so soon. Michelle truly was the heart and soul of our team and meant so much to all of us at her work. Her sense of humor could always brighten the most stressful of days. I would love our talks about family and pets and somehow she always helped me put things into perspective about what’s really important in life. I am incredibly lucky to have worked with such a talented, hard working, thoughtful person who cared so much about the people around her and the world we live in and will leave behind. Work will truly not be the same without her.

Ryan- I want you to know that she would talk of you often and  she was incredibly proud of you both for the person you are and for all that you are doing. My thoughts are with you. Your mum was a special person, truly one in a million and we will all miss her greatly. Love and hugs to you all.

I'm not even sure where to begin or how, I'll start  with my heart is broken and I have not been ok since I received this devastating news! Michelle- was a powerhouse, a force,. She was dedicated to  her work and a hard worker she truly was, I don't think she ever stopped, even on those days she didn't feel her best, she would shrug it off and say 'I'm fine the work has to get done' she never stopped! I'm so very grateful that our paths not only crossed but they met.. I'm grateful for the laughter that we shared, Omg! She would make me laugh til my jaw hurt and then we had our tearful moments too..... Michelle- will most certainly be missed, there will be a noticeable void where she once was.. she left her deep imprint on our hearts ..... Michelle was a hard working, tough loving, blunt & beautiful daughter, mom, coworker, & friend. She always had a strong presence that could never be forgotten. She would say I'm so much stronger than her, but I think I'm stronger because of her. God bless!

Michelle was hard-working and kind to  the patients who she cared for and her coworkers.  She was genuine and humorous.  I enjoyed working with and socializing with her.  She will be missed by many.  My deepest condolences to her family and friends.

She was such a life force- so hard to believe she is gone- she will be so missed & a really hard act to follow- hers was a life well lived.

I met Michelle many years ago.she has always had true dedication to whatever she did. Eventhough, our conversations would be brief  when we saw each other we always took the time to  stop and talk. We've had a lot of laughter, silly times and tearful times. I'm  so glad to have met Michelle. I've  always been  told angels reside in heaven,  but I knew one on earth RIP Michelle.

My heart is very heavy today hearing this news. Michelle was such an important part of our work family. She was a motor and would never quit or stop working hard. She took such great care of people, including the doctors she worked with. She was a “go-to” force for me behind the scenes. We have a huge hole in our MSK team now that will be hard to fill.  I can barely believe she will not be there next week. She was and still is such an important piece of all of our lives. I have told her how much we valued her in the past - I now wish I had done this every day I had the opportunity to work with her. I want to make sure her family knows how good she was at work - how efficient and productive she was at her job. I respected her tremendously and she will always set the bar for me on what a medical assistant should be.  Michelle - we love you and will miss you always. Thanks for bringing some light to all of us during your time here.

Michelle was a wonderful, sweet person. She was a joy to work with and will be greatly missed.
