Mike Harry Politis, age 102, was born in Rhodes, Greece, on November 23, 1922, and passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025. Mike was the most loving husband of the late Anita Andropoulos; loving father of Harry (the late Dianthe) Politis; adoring grandfather of Evangeline (Robert Morse) Politis; most adoring great-grandfather of Penelope and Charlotte; beloved sibling of seven brothers and sister; dear uncle to many; caring cousin; and fond friend of many.
He emigrated to the United States when he was very young with courage, determination, and a dream. Through hard work and perseverance, he built a successful life as a master tailor and became a self-made businessman in the Jefferson Park neighborhood of Chicago. His story was one of resilience and inspiration. He loved to travel around the world with his wife and visited places including Europe, Australia, Africa, and the Caribbean.
